  • Gold medal winner for patterns and sparring at Western Canadian Championships
  • Martial arts instructor at Yuen’s Family Martial Arts Centre

Special Interests:

  • Martial arts, running and walking my dogs
  • Canoeing, swimming, hiking, climbing, baking and anything that involves spending time with my family

My most precious gift:

  • my generous, loving and supportive husband, Al
  • my son, Hunter, who makes me proud everyday
  • my mum, who helps take care of my son, so that I can do a job that I love
  • my dogs, Penny and Cleo, who walk or run with me everyday – rain or shine

My Present Goals:

  • To live a happy and healthy, well balanced life.
  • To be grateful for all the wonderful people and opportunities in my life
  • To be an inspiration to our students by showing them what a positive influence the martial arts has had on my life and can have on theirs

InnocentMiss Katie  -  Junior Black Belt

  • started TaeKwonDo in June 2004 – been training with her younger brother and sister ever since
  • tested and graduated to Junior Black Belt August 2007
  • have an older brother and father who hold the rank of 2nd Degree Black Belts
  • currently training in TaeKwonDo and grappling

Everyday Life:

  • working away at Gleneagle Secondary School
  • enjoy reading (fantasy, historical, realistic fiction), writing and doodling
  • can be frequently found in the kitchen cooking dinner or baking cookies
  • also play the piano and crazily enough, the french horn

Personal Thought

  • dream as though you will live forever….live as though you will die today

  • Started Tae Kwon do in September 1999
  • Is the eldest of 4 siblings, all of whom do Tae Kwon Do
  • Has been training with his father since he started; tested with him for his second degree
  • Graduated Portmoody Highschool in May 2009
